In November 2007, Children's Health System (CHS) was recognized for excellence in nursing care with Magnet designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC). The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing services. Being a Magnet facility means that our patient care program has been named one of the best in the nation! Children's Health System is currently 1 of only 21 children's hospitals recognized as a Magnet facility in the country.
Research shows that Magnet designated facilities consistently outperform other facilities in recruiting and retaining quality nurses. High caliber physicians and specialists are also attracted to organizations with Magnet status. If all this isn't enough, studies show that patient confidence levels at Magnet designated organizations improve.
Like our young patients, each professional pediatric nurse has special needs and interests. Opportunities for nurses at Children's Hospital are as diverse as the children themselves.
